Dan and team made us feel more like friends than hotel guests. The Drexel House gardens create a peace and relaxation felt as soon as you pass through the gates and are greeted with delicious hot Dawa and fresh fruit. The convenience of meals at the time of your choosing prepares you for the day of exploring Nairobi. We hope to be back soon to visit our Drexel friends.

I had an exceptional stay at The Drexel House and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Karen area of Nairobi. The property consistently earns high praise for its cleanliness, comfort, and excellent service, and my own experience absolutely reflects that.

From the moment you arrive, the place feels well‑kept, serene, and welcoming. Dan, the owner, sets the tone—warm, hands‑on, and genuinely committed to creating a memorable stay. Reviews repeatedly highlight the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff, and I found the same: everyone I interacted with was pleasant, helpful, and service‑minded, making the experience feel personal and relaxed.

One of the standout features is the garden. It’s beautifully natural—lush, peaceful, and full of character. The guinea fowl wandering through the gardens add a unique charm you won’t find elsewhere. Whether you’re enjoying a quiet morning coffee or unwinding in the afternoon, the tranquil outdoor spaces invite you to slow down and enjoy the moment. Past guests frequently mention how inviting and restful the grounds are, and I couldn’t agree more.

The rooms are spotlessly clean, spacious, and thoughtfully appointed, echoing the consistently high cleanliness scores and positive remarks across platforms.1 The atmosphere throughout the property is a blend of comfort, privacy, and understated luxury—perfect whether you’re here for work, relaxation, or exploration.

Overall, The Drexel House delivers exactly what great hospitality should feel like: comfortable, calm, and carefully looked-after. With its beautiful natural setting, excellent service, and the warm presence of both staff and owner, it’s easy to see why so many guests rank it among their best stays in Nairobi.

Highly recommended.

Started our Kenya adventure in Drexel House. Cosy, family-owned house that really welcomed us. Fantastic service, good breakfast. Would definitely come back.
